Insert Coin is an arcade of games of skill. It is not a casino, a sportsbook, a lottery or a prediction market. We never play against you for value, we never take a share of a match, and we never hold your money. Every game can be played free, for pretend sats. Where real-BSV Competitive play is offered, it is a contest of skill between players, and the result is decided by how well you play.

Why Insert Coin is not gambling

Gambling, as the law generally defines it, requires three things together: something of value paid to take part (consideration), an outcome decided by chance, and a prize. Insert Coin is built so that its games are not gambling.

Free Mode: nothing to pay, nothing of value to win

Every game on Insert Coin can be played in Free Mode, with pretend sats on a ledger that is never broadcast to any blockchain. Pretend sats have no value, can't be bought, and can't be withdrawn or exchanged for anything. Free Mode involves no consideration and no prize of value.

Skill decides the result

Our games' results come from the players' skill: reflexes, aim, timing, movement, positioning and strategy. Nothing random decides who wins: no cards are dealt, no dice are rolled, no reels spin, and no draw picks a winner. Even the details follow set rules, not chance, the same for every player in every match, so they can be learned and mastered. A better player beats a weaker one consistently. (Our Free Mode bots vary how they play, to keep practice fresh; they never play for value.)

You play other players, never the house

Competitive matches are between people. Insert Coin is never a party to a match: we don't play against you, we don't set odds, and we don't bank any game. Our computer-controlled opponents (bots) are available in Free Mode only; our servers refuse to start a Competitive match against a bot.

We take no share of any match

Whatever a player wins in a Competitive match, 100% of it goes to that player. Insert Coin takes no rake, commission, cut or entry fee from any match. The only deduction is the BitcoinSV network's transaction fee, which is paid to the network's miners, not to us.

We never hold your money

Your wallet is created in your own browser, from a 12-word recovery phrase that never leaves your device and is never sent to us. In a Competitive match, each player locks their own stake in an escrow on the BitcoinSV blockchain. A referee key held by Insert Coin co-signs each payment as the match is played, but it can never move funds alone: every payment also needs a player's own signature, and each player's wallet signs only payments it has checked. Insert Coin never has custody of players' funds.

How Insert Coin earns

Insert Coin earns only from goods and services that have nothing to do with the result of any match:

• Usernames: a flat price to claim a username and to change it.
• NFTs: sales of our NFT collections, and a 5% royalty when they are resold.
• The Trollbox: posting and dislikes are priced services paid to Insert Coin; when a player replies to, likes or tips a post, 99% goes to the post's author and 1% to Insert Coin.
• Tips: voluntary tips to the Tip Jar.

Where Competitive play is offered

Laws on contests of skill differ from place to place. Insert Coin offers real-BSV Competitive play only where and when we determine it is lawful, and may switch it off at any time. Where Competitive play isn't offered, every game remains available in Free Mode. You are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply where you are, and you may not use a VPN or any other means to disguise your location.

Who can play

Free Mode is open to everyone. Competitive play is only for people who are at least 18 years old and of the legal age of majority where they live, and who are permitted by their local law to take part in contests of skill for value.

What Insert Coin is not

• Not a casino: there are no games of chance, and no house that players play against for value.
• Not a sportsbook or betting exchange: you can't stake on events, on other people's matches, or on anything you don't play in yourself.
• Not a lottery, sweepstakes or raffle: there are no drawings and no prizes awarded by chance.
• Not a prediction market or event-contract exchange.
• Not a custodian or exchange: we never hold, trade or convert players' funds.

Fair play

Because skill decides every match, we protect the fairness of play: cheating, automation (bots or scripts), collusion, exploiting bugs and similar conduct are prohibited by our Terms of Use, and we may remove usernames and leaderboard entries tied to it.

Play within your means

Stakes in Competitive play are small and set by the players before a match begins: every player sees the stakes and the amount each locks in escrow before they agree to play. Play for fun, and if you'd rather not stake anything, Free Mode is the same game.
